Emma Watson opts for edgy look at New York Harry Potter premiere
After a tearful outing on the red carpet in London last week Emma Watson was taking a big gamble with her heavy eye make-up at the final New York Harry Potter premiere.
But as if by magic, her cheeks stayed dry as the startling smoky look flecked with gold leaf marked the 21-year-old Hermione actress's arrival as a grown-up international icon.
Putting scruffy-haired male co-stars to shame with her sleek pixie crop, Emma dared to bare in a bronze strapless gown by Bottega Veneta.
She said: "New York is such a fashion capital I felt I could push the envelope a bit. With London I went a bit more classic, but for today I wanted to do something edgier."
So there's no doubt who won this style battle in the Big Apple. The eyes have it.
